- The root is (as is generally known) always a positive number. If we want this number to be negative, we have to place a “-“ in front of the root (not in the root).
(Example: -
„Amount“ from x The amount takes the algebraic sign (no matter if it is negative or positive) of every number. Consequently, all amounts are “positive”. Geometrically looked at, the amount states the distance of every number from zero.

the other hand, is something completely different (the root of a negative
number): We will never be able to do this, because when we take the root, a
negative number will never come out.
