The area of a triangle is not simply calculated by
multiplying length times width anymore. First, we divide the triangle into
two right angled triangles in which the height is marked.

Two equal right angled triangles always make a rectangle
which is calculated with the simple formula a · b (in this case: g1
· h and g2 · h).

This means that on the illustration, the area is twice as
big as that of the triangle.

Consequently, the formula for the area of a triangle is:
